Day 1 - Christmas Planner

I am always so ambitious about being organized over the holidays and I never seem to keep all my notes, lists, receipts, and coupons together!! I am happy to present to you my Christmas Planner for the holiday shopping season!! It features an adorable pocket for store coupons and discounts, a 5x8 refillable notebook and folders for all your gift recipient's! It's roughly 6x9 in size and fits perfectly in your purse so you always have it with you!!

The Front cover is fastened with a velcro circle, and titled "The Joy of Giving." I added some enamel dots and 3 roses to finish it off!

As you open it up, it reveals the 5x8 notepad to keep track of all your gift ideas. The notepad is refillable so you can use this year after year!

The Folders are slid into the side pocket, you can even add a photo of each recipient or add their names to the tabs. The left pocket features 2 folders for coupons and discount cards.

Here's the folders out of the pockets, I love this Christmas paper from My Minds Eye!

I hope you enjoy my Christmas Planner!! I will be posting the instructions at the end of the 12 days so you can get started on all your holiday projects!

Timeless Folio

One thing that I have always done as a paper crafter is continuing to expand my horizons by simply watching other crafters on YouTube or following their blogs. One project was featured this summer by the amazing Kathy Orta with Paper Phenomenon called Foto Folios. I was immediately in LOVE with the idea but purchasing the tutorial was not in my budget at the time. I knew with a little measuring and drawing, I would be able to design my own style of this adorable project!!

The Timeless Folio is 7x9 and its packed with tons of pockets and tags with room for approximately 75 photos and journaling. It would be absolutely adorable as a baby album for documenting the first year or as a school album featuring each year as an individual Folio. This Timeless Folio features the bright and fun DIY Boutique from Simple Stories!!

Here is my front cover:

Once you open it up, its packed with tags, inserts, and some extra stickers to finish it off with your own special touch!

Here is the right side with pocket:

Here is the right side goodies:

It has 2 tall photo mats in the large pocket and (4) 3x4 cards in the smaller pocket!

Once you open up the left side, you reveal a waterfall in the center that will hold 20 photos and a pocket to hold (2) 6x6 photo mats and some stickers to finish the album once the photos are added!

Here is the left side:

The envelope was made with my envelope punch board and I love how it turned out! I used a small pink paperclip to attach it to the pocket.

Here is the left side goodies:

The pocket holds an insert that holds (4) 4x6 cards and room for photos and journaling.

I hope that you love my Timeless Folio design as much as I do! If you are interested in getting a tutorial for this project, please leave a comment!

I plan to post to my blog 1-2 times a week, make sure to check back often to see what I have been up to! There's also a giveaway in my near future, stay tuned for more details!!

It's Official!!

It's Official!! I'm back in the paper crafting industry and I couldn't be any happier!! I disappeared for a while, my son was born in November 2011 and had a very rough start. We rushed him to Akron Children's Hospital at 3 weeks old and he was diagnosed with Salmonella Meningitis. Not at all what a mother and father are prepared to hear but it was our reality. He was home 2 days before Christmas with an IV in his arm to administer meds for 6 weeks. We were so happy for him to be home and loved every minute with him! It wasn't long after the treatments ended that we realized that this was not over.
Caden had developed seizures and the treatments were not working. After being monitored in ICU for the evening, he was headed to surgery to have his brain "washed" to remove the infection and get a handle on the disease that was taking over his body. We watched as they placed him on the ventilator and wheeled him in for surgery. His chances of survival were small and we waited for a miracle. A man whom I can never thank enough, greeted us in the waiting room when he was finished and told us that Caden did amazing and they are hopeful that this will get him better, as I cried from sheer happiness, I was not prepared for the sight of my baby boy after surgery.
He was cut in a zig-zag pattern from ear to ear with around 100 staples in his head. It was something that I would never be prepared for. I was so thankful that he was alive, he was a true fighter and was determined to stay with us!!
Caden improved daily and came home in mid-February, he received IV meds in a chest tube this time around and was 100% clear of infection after the 6 weeks of treatment. Later, we discovered that a shunt was the best option for him due to some parts of his brain not working properly. He is know a VERY active almost 3 year old and I couldn't imagine my life without him!!!
This year my 2 girls are off to school all day and its now my time to get back into my paper crafts business with my little guy by my side!! Stay Tuned, I'm kicking off with an amazing Folio project that I designed!!
